Q: What is the Voice of Ethyrea Contest?
A:  Ethyrea Media Group, Inc is holding an International Contest and Talent Search for one lucky person to be the Narrator of the "The Order of Ethyrea: Code of the Brethren" Audio Book! In addition to being the narrator of the audio book, the winner of the contest will receive other exceptional prizes including a trip for two to Los Angeles for the "Ethyrea: Code of the Brethren" movie premiere, Dinner with the Author and Select members of the film crew, $1000 spending cash, and a chance to be in the film!

Q: When does the contest start?
A: The contest begins at 12:00:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”)  on Sept 1, 2016. However, pre-registration to participate has already begun in order to allow ample time for preparation, practice, and absorption of materials.

Q: When does the contest end?
A: The contest ends at 12:00:00 a.m. ET on March 31, 2017

Q: Which book will be a part of the contest?
A: The Order of Ethyrea – Code of the Brethren – International Edition

Q: Is purchase of the book necessary to enter the contest?
A: No. There is no purchase necessary. However, confirmed registrants will be provided with an opportunity to obtain a copy of the book at a discount directly from the publisher, or can purchase an Amazon Kindle version for a discounted price for a limited time only prior to the contest start date. Details will release in an upcoming Brethren Newsletter for the promotion start dates. 

Q: Does it cost anything to enter?
A: No. There is no cost to enter the contest.

Q: Who is eligible for the contest?
A: This Contest is open only to those who are at least 18 years of age and only to legal residents of any one (1) of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, the United Kingdom, or Canada (excluding Quebec).

Q: How do I enter the contest?
A: Entrants must have internet access and follow the on-screen instructions on the Contest Site

Q: What are the steps in entering the contest?
A: To enter, during the Contest Period, eligible individuals must complete the following steps:

  •     (1) Create Your Entrant Content: Create an audio file of yourself reading your Selected Passage
  •     (2) Submit Your Entrant Content: Then, eligible participants can complete the entry process by visiting the Contest Site and following the on-screen links and instructions on the Contest Site to complete and submit the Contest entry form, including providing all requested information and submitting your Entrant Content.

Q: What is “Entrant Content”?
A: "Entrant Content" is an audio file of your voice (reading a selected passage from the "Order of Ethyrea: Code of the Brethren" International Edition book) that you must create and submit during the Contest Period.

Q: How will I know what/where the "Selected Passage" for the Entrant Content to read/submit?
A: A selection of material will be provided after the registration process for the contest commences with instructions as the entrant content's location on the Contest Site. However, any passage from within the book that fits the designated time allotment would be admissible provided that the chosen passage is included in the entry for verification and identification purposes.

Q: How long should the audio be and what format?
A. The content must be 5 minutes or less, no more than 10MB,  and must be in one (1) of the following formats: .wav, .mp3. While we anticipate opening the contest to other formats before the official commencement of the contest, these are the only two acceptable formats to all judges at this time. Also please note, the same exact excerpt, timed at 3:10 and formatted as an .mp3 was 3MB, but was 27MB as a .wav file. 

Q: Any other "Entrant Content" specifications?
A: Yes.
 -- Entrant Content must be entirely in English.
--  Entrant Content must NOT contain any material beyond the material contained in the Selected Passage and the information requested on the entry form.
--The audio recording portion of the Entrant Content must only include the voice of the entrant and no third parties, music or other materials.
--Entrant Content must be unpublished and not have been submitted in any other contest, promotion, or competition.
--Entrant agrees to indemnify the Released Parties against any and all claims from any third party for any use or reuse by any Released Party of the Entrant Content authorized under Official Rules.

Q: Can I enter by mail?
A: No - Contest entries can only be submitted online and entrants must have internet access.
Q: How is the winner selected?
A: Eligible Entrant Content will be judged by a panel of judges (including Author Danica Fontaine), based on the following criteria according to the percentage weights indicated: voice styling (30%); character distinction (30%); rhythm and timing (30%); and overall presentation (10%).   The Entry with the highest score will be selected as the potential winner.

Q: How is the winner notified?
A: The winner will be contacted by the phone number or email address provided during the entry process in Sponsor’s sole discretion.

Q: When will the winner be notified?
A: Sponsor or its designee will attempt to notify the potential winner in this Contest approximately fourteen (14) days after the end of the Contest Period.

Q: What are the prizes for the winner?
A: The winner of the contest, in addition to serving as a narrator for the Audio Book, will also receive a chance to appear in the Film as a background extra in the upcoming film related to the book,  "Ethyrea: Code of the Brethren", and a trip for winner and one (1) guest on selected dates  to Los Angeles, California, to attend the Premiere.  (Exact dates will be determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion and are subject to change)

Q: May I enter more than once?
A: No - There is only one submission per entrant allowed. Any attempt to submit in excess of any limit or otherwise in violation of Official Rules by using multiple or false contact information or otherwise may be disqualified.

Q: Is audio quality a factor for winning selection?
A: Yes! Audio quality will be considered toward the overall presentation of your work. Remember, your submission should reflect your talent and the quality of your work!

Q: Is pronunciation also counted as a factor?
A: Absolutely. There is an audio pronunciation guide recorded by the Author herself demonstrating the proper pronunciations of all Kingdoms and Character Names. This audio pronunciation guide is provided under the reference guide section and in the official contest confirmation email as  well as here - so NO EXCUSES! Proper pronunciation counts!

Q: Can I submit if I’m just starting out in voice work?
A: Absolutely! Contest is open to all eligible entrants and we encourage those who feel that they have the ability and skill level to enter.

Q: Can I put in a late entry after the deadline?
A: No, sorry. Late entries will not be eligible. Entries must be submitted during the contest period.

Q: What if I am unable to accept/attend prize offers in an event of an emergency, etc?
A: If winner does not accept or use the entire prize, the unaccepted or unused part of the prize will be forfeited and Sponsor will have no further obligation with respect to that prize or portion of the prize.
